Do you have a pet who sometimes likes to get into mischief or likes to get into your garbage and other things? Your pet may ingest something that is unhealthy for them as a result and they can get very sick. Or, if you have a pet who often gets out of the house and likes to run the neighborhood, they can be more at risk of getting injured by a car or by another animal. 

You should always be willing to take your pet to the vet if they get injured, ingest something they shouldn't, or if they get sick in other ways. Here are four signs your pet needs to go to the animal hospital right away.

Your pet won't stop shaking and drooling

A pet that is shaking uncontrollably and also drooling is a pet that is likely poisoned or severely injured. Even if you cannot see any visible injury or sign of toxin, your pet needs serious help and only an animal hospital specialist can help. Plants, air fresheners and plug-ins, snail bait, and other things can poison a pet, and getting hit by a vehicle, running into something, or even getting attacked by another animal can cause injury.

It's better to be safe than sorry, so take your pet to the animal hospital as soon as you see issues.

Your pet won't eat or drink

If your pet won't eat or drink, they're either stressed, ill, or injured, or there are other issues for their problems. Your pet will need to be evaluated by their vet at the animal hospital to ensure they are OK. Your pet's vet will give them a thorough exam to see what is causing their issue and may ask about their diet and what they were doing before they started refusing food and drink.

Your pet is acting really odd

Is your pet hiding when they are normally social? Are they unusually aggressive? Are they acting panicky? A pet that is acting weird may be hurt or just feeling off, so take yours to the animal hospital if they are just acting odd.

Your pet is vomiting uncontrollably

Any pet who won't stop vomiting or having bowel issues should be seen by a vet at an animal hospital. Poisoning or other injuries can cause this type of issue and your pet can get dehydrated or worse without care. An urgent visit to the vet should set things right again.
